Increased self-confidence. Having weathered the trials of life and career, women in their 40s are more confident in their abilities and temperament, have wider social circles, and have more opportunities to meet men, unintentionally increasing the probability of infidelity.
Less worry about children. As children grow up and become more self-reliant, they no longer need to be constantly cared for like infants and toddlers. Therefore, middle-aged women have more free time for themselves and the opportunity to relax and enjoy life.
Hormonal changes. By age 40, women experience an increase in testosterone levels and a relative decrease in estrogen and oxytocin. This leads to increased sexual desire and a greater focus on satisfying their own sexual needs rather than solely catering to their husbands.
Boredom with the same sexual partner. After living with the same partner for decades, both men and women may find their sex life dull and even tedious. At this point, changing partners offers a thrill of "cheating," making it hard to resist the temptation.

They yearn to stay young forever. Every woman knows that perfect sex makes her more sexy and beautiful. If their husbands don't understand and appreciate them, they can only seek solace elsewhere.
A woman might retaliate against a cheating husband. If her husband has cheated on her or deceived her in the past, she might do the same thing to seek balance once she has the ability or opportunity.
Therefore, experts specifically remind that maintaining a marital relationship is a lifelong endeavor, and middle-aged husbands should show more care and praise for their wives, allowing them to find happiness and fulfillment in family life.
