Menstruation has many benefits for women. Beautiful and healthy women benefit from its ability to regulate their endocrine system; it is also closely related to conceiving the next generation; and it can help women detect diseases at an early stage.

For a woman, the most frustrating time is that unavoidable week every month – irritability, pain, inconvenience… it seems impossible to find a single pleasant word associated with it. But this isn't entirely true. Menstruation offers many benefits for women. A beautiful and healthy woman benefits from its ability to regulate her endocrine system; it's also crucial for conceiving and raising children; and it can help women detect diseases early.

First benefit: It's the first sign a woman can use to determine if she's pregnant .

For married women of childbearing age with previously regular menstrual cycles, if menstruation is more than ten days late, pregnancy should be the first consideration. If pregnancy is confirmed, those who do not intend to conceive should take remedial measures as soon as possible; those who wish to conceive should pay closer attention to nutrition and avoid exposure to tobacco, alcohol, pesticides, harmful chemicals, radiation, and medications that can cause birth defects. The expected delivery date can also be calculated based on the menstrual cycle, which is very beneficial for prenatal care and psychological well-being during pregnancy.

The second benefit: It allows for early detection of diseases.

If a girl is over 18 years old and has not started menstruating, or if a woman who previously had regular menstruation has stopped menstruating for more than three months (excluding pregnancy, breastfeeding, and menopause), she should be checked for conditions such as lower reproductive tract atresia, congenital absence of the uterus or uterine hypoplasia, ovarian tumors, pituitary tumors or hypofunction, endocrine disorders, or wasting diseases. In addition, changes in the timing, amount, and accompanying symptoms of menstruation are also important clues for the detection and diagnosis of many diseases.

The third benefit: It can prevent the harm caused by excessive iron.

There is a hereditary disease called hemochromatosis, which easily causes iron metabolism disorders, leading to an accumulation of excess iron in the body. Excess iron can slowly cause damage to the skin, heart, liver, joints, pancreas, and other organs. One way to treat excess iron is to periodically remove a certain amount of blood. Organic damage caused by hemochromatosis is much less likely to occur in women than in men, and may even be almost nonexistent. This is because menstruation—the periodic blood loss—conserves the excess iron.

Fourth benefit: It can promote hematopoietic function.

Menstruation causes regular blood loss and hematopoiesis, giving women's circulatory and hematopoietic systems a unique "training" that men lack. This makes women more resilient to accidental blood loss and able to produce new blood more quickly to replenish what has been lost. Studies have shown that, for men and women of the same weight and health, losing the same proportion of blood due to an accident would be fatal for men, while women have a chance of being rescued and eventually recovering.
