A few days ago, while surfing the internet, Xiao Jiu saw a urologist post private messages from fans on Weibo:

The doctor also appealed on Weibo: "A normal sexual encounter is equivalent to doing aerobic exercise... Anything in excess is bad. Maintaining an appropriate frequency may be a good choice for both parties."
I. Moderate "bedtime exercise" is good for your health
Help with sleep
An Australian study showed that 64% of participants experienced better sleep quality after orgasm, suggesting that sexual activity can promote the secretion of "happy hormones," relax the mind and body, and improve sleep quality.
Good for heart health
A previous British study, which investigated 1,000 men from Wales over 20 years, found that men with higher sexual activity had a 69% lower risk of heart disease than those with lower frequency. Sexual activity is considered moderate-intensity aerobic exercise, and like other aerobic exercises, it can lower blood pressure and strengthen the heart.

Delay aging
A study from Scotland shows that women who have sex an average of three times a week look younger than those who have sex less frequently. During sexual activity, the body's metabolism and blood circulation accelerate, and more beneficial hormones are secreted, which helps slow down aging.
II. What problems will arise from excessive use?
Of course, moderation is beneficial to physical and mental health, but excess is harmful.
Excessive consumption can burden organs and the central nervous system, leading to premature aging of organs in the long run and potentially inducing some functional disorders.
Excessive exertion can lead to physical exhaustion and affect mental state, potentially causing dizziness, fatigue, and memory loss. In the long run, it may affect bodily functions and the quality of life and work.
In addition, excessive blood flow can cause organs to be in a state of repeated and continuous congestion for a long time, which can easily induce prostatitis in men and pelvic congestion in women.

3. How do we measure whether the frequency is appropriate?
American sexologists have derived a formula: frequency = the first digit of age × 9. If the age is between 20 and 29, it is 2 × 9 = 18. 18 can be seen as a combination of 10 and 8, which means that the appropriate frequency for this age group is 8 times in 10 days. If the age is between 30 and 39, it is 3 × 9 = 27, which means 7 times in 20 days.
However, this can only be used as a reference. There are still great individual differences between people, such as age, physical condition, and personality. The specific decision should be made based on individual circumstances.
The simplest way to judge is that if you feel energetic and full of vitality on the second day after sexual intercourse, and it does not affect your daily life and work, then it means that it is moderate; otherwise, it is excessive.

Having excessive desires is actually a disease—hypersexuality, also known as "sex addiction."
These patients are unable to control their behavior, indulging in desires all day long . They experience restlessness, anxiety, and insomnia if they don't engage in these desires. In their hyperactive state, they will seek every opportunity, potentially disregarding morality and law, impacting their families and society, and even turning to crime.
This condition can be psychological, caused by psychological, family, and social factors, such as childhood physical punishment or abandonment by relatives. In addition, various physiological conditions, such as thyroid disease, can also lead to hypersexuality.

If the cause is psychological, then professional help, specifically a psychologist, is needed for treatment. Family and friends should also provide support and encouragement. If it is caused by a physical illness, the underlying cause needs to be treated, and the hypersexuality will subside after treatment.
Physiological needs are a part of adult life, but it's important to know how to do them in moderation; too much or too little is bad for your health.
