There are some women whose thoughts you can never truly fathom, yet they can glean everything they want to know from you, subtly probing your intentions while engaging in conversation. Surprisingly, men often listen intently during such conversations. The Japanese website Mynavi published a related survey; let's hear what these men truly think.
1. Insincere dialogue
A 34-year-old technician said that when someone speaks without a clear stance and maintains an ambiguous attitude, he feels like they are being tested. Another 31-year-old man in the retail industry replied that when someone avoids getting to the point, it feels like the other person is just rambling on. A 27-year-old sales customer service representative said that "their speech lacks emotion."
Once you speak your true feelings, it's very difficult to correct them later, so most people choose to say things that won't offend anyone. Speaking your true feelings directly can offend people, so in such situations, people often resort to ambiguous or suggestive language.
2. Indirect questioning style
A 28-year-old man in the education industry said, "Beating around the bush with questions seems too long." Another 35-year-old man in the IT industry said, "Some people want to find out a man's annual income, so they will gradually shift the topic to money through casual conversations, and finally find out his annual income."
When discussing sensitive topics, it's not unique to women to subtly avoid the main point and ask questions indirectly. However, men often perceive women as being more adept at asking roundabout questions.
Women behave this way because they worry that asking questions too directly might bother the other person, so men should understand this feeling.
3. There is a large discrepancy between the content of the speech and the facial expressions.
A 35-year-old man in the chemical industry responded, "He says nice things but has no expression on his face." Another 30-year-old man in the IT industry said, "He says very polite things on the surface, but his words are barbed and scary."
Listen closely to their conversation; it's clearly full of sarcastic and derogatory remarks, yet the language is so polite. Conversely, they're praising each other, but there's not a trace of a smile in their eyes. Even just watching from the sidelines would be terrifying. Understandably, their true emotions are already laid bare in such behavior.
4. They acted like they had a very good relationship even though they had just met.
A 30-year-old trading company employee answered, "When you're smiling while simultaneously competing with each other on appearance," while a 24-year-old IT professional replied, "When someone initiates a conversation with you using a tone like, 'We're good friends, right?'"
To outsiders, the two may seem to have a good relationship and speak intimately, but in reality, the woman who prioritizes herself and dominates the conversation can be quite frightening to men. For a moment, a man might wonder which of her words truly reflects her feelings.
Testing others is generally considered bad behavior, but sometimes it can also be a sign of caring for them and being cautious in your interactions. After all, directly stating your true thoughts might hurt the other person. If the intention behind testing someone's feelings is good, then as adults, this behavior should be acceptable.
